Designing a Photography Interpretation Center for SFMOMA

Early Explorations

Adobe XD is exploring a partnership with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) to create a Photography Interpretation Center in their new space opening in 2016. These photos highlight some early explorations around the art of photography. The goals for the space are as follows:

  1. Build a smart museum. Create a seamless blend of analog experiences, onsite digital technology, and mobile content.
  2. Get personal with our visitors. Offer customized experiences and content based on visitors’ previous activities or interests.
  3. Stage a conversation that could only happen here. Engage community voices that resonate with our visitors’ diverse lives and interests, as well as the distinctive culture of the Bay Area.
  4. Ask as many questions as we answer. Openly embrace the idea that both making and viewing contemporary art are imaginative, open - ended journeys. There is no right way to look at art.

The team who created this body of work and are making this project a reality include: Erik Natzke, Sam Wick, Sonja Hernandez, Will Ruby, Phil Lu, Patrick Reynolds, Sean Voisen, Lisa Pedee, Kim Kerry-Tyerman, and myself.

SFMOMA re-opening in in Spring of 2016.
