My Story
I am an outgoing, science-driven leader, passionate about solving complex environmental problems in conservation.
I spent my time in undergrad earning a Biology, Environmental Science, and Chemistry B.A. from Coe College. Although, through a somewhat serendipitous path, my career started in San Francisco with Adobe’s design team.
After several years in the Bay Area developing a strong design acumen, I opted for fresh air and soggy hiking boots working as a biologist with a home base in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I specialized in wetland biology, soil science, botany, and GPS/GIS technologies.
I recently completed a M.Sc. in Environmental Conservation at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My capstone project took me to Kigali, Rwanda where I evaluated a national forest restoration monitoring system, providing recommendations for upgrade and operationalization of the system with the support of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and several Rwandan government agencies.
Since then, I’ve worked a handful of odd jobs - pollinator habitat restoration, organics recycling engagement, and real-estate data - among others, before landing at Environmental Incentives. There, I worked with USAID missions across Sub-Saharan Africa to enhance biodiversity-funded programs by strengthening evidence use and adaptive management. I loved the job and my coworkers, but with USAID’s Stop Work Order, I’ve had to start thinking about what’s next.
While it’s bittersweet to move on, I’m energized by the possibilities ahead. Every new chapter brings fresh challenges, opportunities to grow, and the chance to make an impact in new ways.
When I'm not busy navigating the complexities of environmental conservation, I love spending my time lifting heavy things at my local gym, rock-climbing, debating public policy with my friends, and traveling to far away places.
There are some who can live without wild things, and some who cannot.
